I always approach trends with caution, as a personal stylist I prefer to build a wardrobe of investment pieces for clients, pieces that can be worn today and years from now but having said that I find trends are rather important to follow, you may think this is a contradiction because trends come and go but what I have found is fashion trends circle back and you will find that past trends are being rehashed but in new ‘out of the box’ ways which inspire me to incorporate some of the new trends with the investment pieces to update, elevate, freshen up and ultimately have my clients feel as though they have a whole new wardrobe. Remember, trends are not only items of clothing and accessories but also colours, patterns, and fabrics.

Here are a few of the easiest 2022 Fashion Trends to incorporate into your wardrobe from my perspective as a personal stylist.

Wide-Legged Trousers

Oversized baggy trousers, with elegant sleek silhouettes.

Relaxed Glamour

Sequins with everything, sequined blazer with jeans, or sneakers with a glamorous sequin evening dress.

Cutouts

Cutouts on clothing pieces from dresses to shirts and even jackets.

Corset Comeback

Traditional corsetry or out-of-the-box creations and new ways to wear them.

Woven, Crochet, Net everything

Look out for versatile net pieces that can be worn over anything, crochet tops, Jackets, dresses, or even wear it on its own as a two piece.

Stripes with attitude

Mixed stripes, bold with thin, colours with black and white, bold and busy, or all in one from top to bottom.

Monochrome Contrast

Black and white contrast from head to toe for everything you can imagine

Vibrant Colours

Vibrant colours that celebrate spring and summer, like bright vibrant pink.

Official Comfort Office wear

Ease back into office wear while keeping it comfortable and still looking put together mix and match with more formal pieces.

Puffy Sleeves

Look out for bulging structured sleeves to extend your body or off the shoulder softer fabrics for a fantasy look.

I am so inspired by all these amazing trends I can’t wait to build a few special curated pieces into my client’s wardrobes.

Always keep in mind that trends can be tricky to incorporate without a basic understanding of your body type, skin tone/colour direction and style personality also keeping in mind your lifestyle you would not want to waste money on trend items that you will never wear for at least a season.
